NOTD: Keeping an eye on things

What's this!? A blog post!?

Clearly I was not meant to run a blog while trying to get my nail polish line up and running. So this little space of earth fell off to the side. The deep dark side that no one wants to go to cause who knows what's down there. Lucky for all few of you that read this, I got an itch to post. I blame this on being obnoxious and wanting everyone to see my simple, but awesome Halloween manicure.

I went super simple and pulled out Zoya "Raven", which is a great black with a subtitle silver shimmer. This was one of my first colors from Zoya that I ever owned. It goes on beautifully in two coats and flickers its shimmer in the sun. To make it more fun and Halloween-y I added some goggly eyes to both of my ring fingers. I have been obsessed with goggly eyes ever since I made our googly eye wreath last month.  I want them on everything. So this mani had to happen. And now, when I shake my nails it sounds like I have little maracas on them.

I am easily entertained.

Hope you all have a wonderfully spooooooky Halloween! I hope to be back soon with more polish!

NOTD: Emerald & Ash Deep Field

Today I wanted to share with you a polish from my very own line, Emerald & Ash. This one is super special to me, because my husband created it. Yep, he sat down and tried his hand at making nail polish and I'd say he hit a home run. Being huge into science, he was drawn to creating a polish that had something to do with science. He was rather smitten with the idea of creating a polish that looked similar to the Hubble Deep Field photo.

I'd say he did a great job conveying that photo in polish form. It's been great wearing this polish to test is out and see how it looks as a full mani. And I wanted to share it with you all!

What is beyond difficult to capture is the different sizes of holographic glitter that shimmer in the light like little stars. There's a lot of depth to it will all of the glitter trapped in a black base. The first coat is a little streaky, but everything smoothed out perfectly with a second coat. So what you are seeing is two coats of Deep Field, two coats of Gelous and a coat of Poshe.

I hope you all enjoyed it! I look forward to sharing my other polishes with you soon!

NOTD: OPI Bright Lights, Big Color

Bright Lights, Big Color, by OPI, was one of those colors that I would always pick up and put back down every time I saw it in the stores. I was lucky enough to be gifted this beauty and it came in the mail the other day.

Application was nice. It went on easily and wasn't hard to work with. I will say that even with 3 coats I can still see my nail line. A forth might have made the nail line go away, but I didn't want to apply a fourth. It's a very pretty bright mellon color with a wonderful shimmer that throws some gold and a hit of lime green in certain lights. I could very easily see this becoming a great summer polish as it's so bright and fresh.
